What is Release of Information?

A release of information is a document that gives a consumer the opportunity to decide what material they want to be released from their medical file, who they want it delivered to, how long the data can be issued, and under what statutes and guidelines it is released. A release of information also allows for the protection of both the consumer and the provider in releasing HIPAA information.

There are many reasons that may require a medical release of information, such as:

  • Ensuring continuity of care
  • Medical billing
  • Health insurance billing
  • Life insurance premium determination
  • Data for legal proceedings

From single-physician private practices to large medical groups with multiple locations, our innovative release of information solutions have stood the test of time for over 20 years— saving our clients thousands of dollars annually in related expenses.

We offer scalable solutions, giving you the flexibility to engage with our competent and attentive staff at any stage of the release of information process. A trained, qualified, and dedicated staff member will be assigned to manage and maintain your entire release of information process (or selected stages of that process)— from receiving incoming requests to performing electronic record extraction, scanning, billing, collections, handling status inquiries, overall fulfillment, and follow up.

Our compliant and proven solutions improve patient relations, increase departmental efficiency, boost staff productivity, and significantly reduce liability and exposure to risk. As a result, clients enjoy the flexibility to redirect their human and financial resources to fulfill other objectives such as patient care or revenue generation.
